I find joy in the local, the ordinary, the eccentric. I love that the past and the present constantly collide Fredericksburg. This is best exemplified in my recent painting of Goolrick’s Pharmacy. I was stopped at a light when a classic Cadillac pulled up alongside me right in front of Goolrick’s– for a moment the present faded into the past. The painting immediately came to my mind. That happens a lot here in Fredericksburg.
I enjoy the challenge of capturing a likeness of the people and places I love.
